The schedule is out of control and is good only as a wall decoration. The status of the suppliers is almost unknown and they twitch with their shoulders on every status-request.. On the question of when something is done, the answers are only: "It is difficult to estimate." The responsibilities in and outside the company have shifted and you no longer know which part of work lies in whose hands.
The overview has almost lost and the customer threatens.
That does not exist? For sure it does sometimes. I myself have already solved many of such projects back into the schedule or, where that was not possible because of missed deadlines in the past , they returned to a mutually acceptable course.
In such cases, an experienced professional is needed in the project, who supports additionally to the expertise and experience a good deal of imagination, because with conventional methods such projects cannot be solved properly .
In such cases, within days, sometimes even hours, a current project status or subproject status is to be determined to ensure that the ongoing work may be coordinated just makes sense to start with. Then follow status-tracking and coordination of individual works of the project parallely so that all systems can be accurately joined together. The first sub-goal to be shot is the individual works to coordinate so that following trades must wait as little as possible on previous work or deliveries.
If you can master this Coordination, you can do wonders in such a project. In the editorial section of this site I would like to present examples from the practice.
